Bubble Bath Time!

These are just a few pictures of the boys enjoying their bubble bath time!  We have had a busy week around our house.  Thanks to the weather we did get to spend quite a bit of it outside!!  Austin is really enjoying going on bike rides.  We went to the creek in our neighborhood so Austin and Colton could throw rocks and sticks off the bridge.  Austin loves throwing the rocks and sticks.  Colton loves gathering the rocks and sticks so they make a great team!!  All the outside time leads to fun in the tub after dinner.  Colton loves the bubbles!!

I asked Austin to cover his 'privates'.  He did a great job, Colton needed a little photoshop help!  I just really wanted to post this picture because of the cheeseball smile I am getting from Austin.  Such cuties!

Touch A Truck.

This weekend we went to an event in Waterloo called 'Touch A Truck'.  The boys were able to sit in and "drive" a whole bunch of city vehicles.  After we drove all the trucks we headed over to the bouncy house (which was a huge attraction for Austin!).  Colton jumped in the bouncy house and then ate some mini-donuts with Papa.  After Austin went three rounds in the bouncy houses, the boys rode around on the three wheelers that were there.  They loved this until Austin saw some kids with cotton candy.  This prompted them to both run to Annie and tell her that they needed cotton candy!  They ate as much cotton candy as they could as we walked to the car to head home.  It was a great event and the boys had a great time seeing all the big trucks!

The boys are being very serious about driving this gator around.
This is Austin and Colton sitting in the drivers seat of a garbage trucks.  There were a lot of buttons to push so Austin was busy doing that while Colton was steering!
Austin in a big yellow dump truck.
Austin in a monster truck.  "Look mommy, no hands!"
Annie, Austin, and Colton up on the lift truck.  This was pretty exciting for them and Austin did an excellent job holding on tight.
Austin in the skid steer.  He got himself all buckled in and tried to figure out how to use the controls to get it moving.
Colton sitting in the skid steer.  He was ready to head to the bouncy house at this point.  It was a great morning!

Colton!

Colton was really smiling for the camera last night so I thought I would post a couple of pictures!!!  You can see in the pictures that he fell and hit his right eye on a Tonka truck Sunday night.  The bruise is a yellowy green this morning.  It isn't super noticeable but with his short hair it is definitely more noticeable!!!  I know all the Hawkeye fans are going to say he is smiling because he is wearing his hawkeye jersey but . . . (scroll down)

He is smiling so big at me because he was running around with no pants on!!!  What a cute little bottom he has!

Last Friday Grandma and Grandpa Kliegl came over to play with Austin and Colton for the day.  Grandpa was on his way to the Iowa/UNI game in Iowa City.  They had a fun day playing outside.  Austin loves to hit baseballs and apparently he had a lot of home runs Friday afternoon.  Grandma stayed with us for a couple nights and we had a great time.  Saturday we went to Baby Keller's FIRST birthday party.  It is hard to believe he is already one!!  Keller is walking all over the place and him and Colton are a great little pair!!  Saturday after Colton's nap we went to Waverly to see Brian at work.  The boys were excited to get there and see him, although Colton wasn't too sure about having to leave 'DADA' there so we could get our groceries!  Sunday we went to the park and had donuts before Grandma and Grandpa had to take off to get back to Emmetsburg.

Austin has been asking every day, "Can we go to the track where you and daddy run?"  I keep telling him we will some day and yesterday afternoon ended up being that some day.  We got to the track and Austin wanted to sit in the bleachers with Colton.  Then he said, "Mommy and Daddy, go race and I will cheer for you!"  Austin said, "On your marks, set, go!"  And Mommy and Daddy raced.  Of course my little legs were working harder than Brians and Brian let me be in the lead for a while . . . Austin was in the background yelling, "Go Mommy Go, you are winning Mommy!!!"  Then Brian passed me up right at the finish line so Daddy won and Austin talked to me about using my power booster at the end!  He is hilarious.

Then Austin wanted to race Colton.  Austin ran half way around the track and Colton ran about 50 meters.  They were both running as fast as they could so we were pretty impressed with how far they made it.  Then we took a break from running and we played on the high jump mat and the pole vault mats.  Austin and Brian picked up all the tractor tires and found a huge spider!  We ran up the hill and rolled down.  We played under the bleachers.  Then we headed home.  It was a great afternoon and the boys were exhausted by the time we got ready for bed.  The weather was perfect and it was so nice to spend so much time outside!!

Before and After . . .

Zoey, Charlee, and Jake came over for dinner last Thursday and the below picture sums up the entire visit.  The kids were not very energetic.  They all wanted to sit within inches of eachother and they made it work.  Of course Charlee did get a little grief from the big kids for taking up so much room, but as you can see, they made it work!!  Austin and Zoey also played 'house'.  Zoey was the big sister and read books to Austin.

Check out the golden locks on Colton!!!  Him and Charlee have had almost the exact same haircut now for a few months.  Above you can see it is starting to get in the way of his eyes a little.  Below, I tried to capture Charlee and Colton so you could see the similarity between the two . . . they are both so stinkin' cute!!
I love the golden curls in the back and hope they make an appearance some time in the future . . .

Colton got a haircut!!!  He is adorable and looks older . . .

We had a fun weekend!  Saturday we got to see Jamie and Baby Keller.  Keller is walking all over the place and we haven't seen him in awhile so this surprised Colton quite a bit.  He is used to bringing Keller toys and calling him a baby . . . Colton didn't know quite what to think of him being able to walk all over and play with toys all by himself!  It was very cute watching the three boys play together.  They did a pretty good job of sharing everything and Keller enjoyed trying to keep up with Austin & Colton too! On Sunday we hung out with Sarah, Jake, Zoey, and Charlee.  They had some people over to watch the Broncos football game.  The above picture was the best shot of all four of the kids that I could get.  Zoey thought arms should be up and then Alyce walked right in front of the camera . . . quite the crew!

A few more neighborhood kids showed up and they ran around outside for about an hour and then headed inside to play in the basement.  The dads (yes dads) dressed the kids as you see them below . . . Brian helped Colton put on these dresses.  Austin was later running around in a Snow White top but there are no pictures to prove this!

It was a very fun evening.  On the way home, Austin realized he still didn't have a shirt on.  He was very concerned that we were leaving his shirt behind.  We explained that Zoey would take very good care of his shirt and we would see it again soon.  He was satisfied with this answer.  The boys were very exhausted from all the excitement.  What a fun time!

Labor Day Weekend!!!

What a fun weekend we had!!  We got to Fort Dodge on Friday afternoon and Jon, Clare, Nick and Courtney arrived shortly after we did!!  We went to Papa's shop because Austin told us he had work to do . . . him and Colton spent time adding up things on the calculator and stapling a couple of papers together.  Then it was lunch break time!  We spent the afternoon playing in the pool in Annie and Papa's front yard.  Everyone ended up being wet by the time we went inside.  It was a beautiful afternoon and Austin loved getting to race Nick and Jon around the yard.  Austin conducted several swimming and running competitions.  Watching the Olympics has made him quite the expert on starting a race and handing out trophies!  Saturday the big kids went golfing and the boys got to go to the park.  Great morning for everyone . . .

Sunday we got up and went to the Fort Dodge apple orchard.  They have a new play area for kids.  It was fun getting to watch Austin and Colton try to master some of the fun stuff they had to offer.  Austin and Colton both fed the goats, llama's and pot bellied pigs!  Here is Jon and Colton checking out the llama's!!
Here Austin feeding a baby goat.  He had to put food in the bucket and then pull the rope straight out.  This would raise the bucket and the boat would run up the ramp to the platform to eat.  Austin thought it was great, the goat ran up the ramp and ate all of the food!
Here are a couple of shots of Austin and Colton mastering the 'hay bale maze'.  They both figured it out pretty quickly.  Austin did it on his own and Colton really only needed help once or twice.  Very determined little boys.

These were "race cars" that were set up on a dirt track.  Austin and I raced around the track.  I only went twice and I think Austin went at least 6 times.  Colton wasn't quite big enough to push the pedals so he sat on a race car that was parked off to the side.  Colton was happy enough to get to do that.
Austin trying out the tire rolling . . .
Austin and Colton enjoying a caramel apple with Uncle Jon . . .

Austin is sitting by Jon in this picture and he is looking at the bon fire.  You can see in his face that he was pretty impressed with the fire.  He stayed up long enough to eat his first roasted marshmallow and then he wanted to go inside and lay down.  Great great day for everyone!!!
Austin is monitoring the progress of his marshmallow; Jon did the roasting and Austin just sat next to him.
Austin and Clare enjoying the bonfire!
Austin eating his marshmallow.  It was a huge marshmallow and he ate two of them before calling it a night.
Jon and Clare left Monday to catch a flight back to Denver.  The weekend was a lot of fun and of course went by way too fast.  It was so nice to have everyone together!!
