Austin's first fish!!

Austin, Brian, Nick and Papa went fishing on Sunday!  Austin had never been fishing before and he was very excited to see what it was all about.  He was extremely happy to find out he could be as close to the water as he wanted to be!  He told me when he got home, "Mommy, I just walked right in the water".  He also held a fish and told me, "it was slimy and it wanted to swim some more".  He is super cute.  I think between the four of them they only ended up catching one fish so I'm happy that Austin at least got to hold on to a fish and see what 'going fishing' means!!!  Colton was supposed to go fishing but he opted for a nap when it was time to head to the lake.  So Colton got to play with Annie instead of fishing.  Perfect day for a fishing trip!!

Happy Saint Pat's!

We spent St. Patrick's day in Emmetsburg and had a great time!  We went to a juggling show on Saturday and Austin was disappointed not to get on stage but he did get a balloon animal.  He requested a tiger and that is exactly what he got!  Then Austin had a couple shamrocks painted on his face and we watched the parade.  Austin wore himself out at the parade and ended up falling asleep in Colton's stroller.  Austin picked up a piece of candy that was thrown out to him;  he threw his little arm up in the air and said "MOMMY they are throwing out candy . . . . and I LOVE CANDY!"  It was so completely adorable to see the happiness in his face and hear it in his voice.  He had an amazing day.  Colton walked up and down the parade and had a good time meeting people and just walking around!!  After the parade Austin and Colton went to the park with Grandma and Grandpa.  The weather was beautiful and we couldn't have asked for a better weekend!!

Cookie Monsters!

Our friends Jamie, Jeff and Baby Keller came over for dinner.  They brought Austin and Colton cookies that had an extreme amount of frosting on them!!!  Colton had a great time and since we were all laughing at him, Austin thought he would do the same thing . . . he just wanted to be a part of it!  So, they both ended up with frosting all over their face and up their noses.

Happy Birthday Austin!!!  We had a little birthday party for Austin a couple weeks back.  I made him a "fire truck" cake, which he loved!!!  We had a few family members here and a couple of friends for Austin to play with.  Him and Zoey ran all over the place and he had a great time.  Colton loved eating the cake and ice cream!!

15 month check up

Colton 15 month stats:  weight 22 lbs, height 30.5", head circumference 19".  He received three vaccinations and there were no tears!  He is so brave. . . he stared the nurses down when I picked him up.  Once he was in my arms he looked at me and pointed to the door.  He is so cute!!

Oatmeal time!

So, one of Austins favorite foods is oatmeal and he is trying to master the  microwave so he can make it himself.  Doing everything himself has been a big deal around our house lately.  So, here is a super cute picture of Austin "teaching" Colton how to use the microwave to make his own oatmeal.  As you can see they are sharing a step stool which is adorable and Colton is actually paying very close attention to everything Austin is telling him.  It is hard to believe Austin turned three yesterday.  We celebrated with Jon and Clare at dinner and we are going to have a small bday party for him when we get to Iowa!!
